I feel very lucky that my career has enabled me to spend the last several decades traveling, collaborating with talented partners and getting the chance to experience the world, its various cultures and people. This is a fascinating time to view the world thru a viewfinder.
I started in the industry when the primary medium was film, video was still analog and digital cinematography was just coming of age. Today's image capture tools across the entire spectrum of cinematography have broadened the variety of situations where we can shoot great images. But the core skills of working with a director and crew to stage and frame a shot, of moving the camera in a way that best tells the story, and understanding the intricacies of staging and lighting a scene to best effect are still needed.
While much of my work has been TV commercials for a variety of clients, I have also shot several narrative feature films and music videos. I have experience with shooting situations of all sizes from tabletop macro food photography to large interior sound stages.
My goal as a DP is to focus on getting the director’s vision on screen while working with the producer to to make sure the numbers line up.
I am looking forward to a lot more creative challenges in the future. I look forward to helping you out on your next project.
